CSET Mathematics Test
The CSET: Mathematics test consists of three subtests. The first subtest covers algebra and number theory. The second subtest covers geometry, and probability and statistics. The third subtest covers calculus and the history of mathematics.
Each CSET: Mathematics subtest contains both multiple-choice and constructed-response questions. Multiple-choice questions are scored based on the number answered correctly. The constructed-response questions are scored 3, 2, 1, U (Unscorable), or B (Blank) based on how well the answer fully achieves the purpose of the question, applies subject matter knowledge, and gives supporting evidence in relation to the topic.
Candidates who are testing for Foundational-Level Mathematics are required to pass Subtests I and II only. All CSET: Mathematics examinees will need to bring a graphing calculator from the approved models listed in the current version of the CSET: Mathematics registration bulletin. The calculator will only be allowed for Subtest II. The test administrator will clear the memory before and after the test.
