CSET Industrial and Technology Education Test
The CSET: Industrial and Technology Education test consists of two subtests that are scored separately. The first subtest covers the nature of technology. The second subtest covers power and energy, information and communication, and project and product development.
Each CSET: Industrial and Technology Education subtest contains both multiple-choice and constructed-response questions. Multiple-choice questions are scored based on the number of questions answered correctly. There are two types of constructed-response questions: short and extended. Subtest I has both types. Subtest II has only the short type. Short constructed-response questions are scored 3, 2, 1, U (Unscorable), or B (Blank). Extended constructed-response questions are scored 4, 3, 2, 1, U, or B.
CSET: Industrial and Technology Education constructed-response scoring is based on how well the answer achieves the purpose of the question, applies subject matter knowledge, and gives supporting evidence in relation to the topic. The extended constructed-response questions also evaluate the depth and breadth of understanding.
