CSET Health Science Test

The CSET: Health Science test consists of three subtests. The first subtest covers the foundations of health education, human growth and development, and chronic and communicable diseases. The second subtest covers nutrition and fitness; mental and emotional health; and alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. The third subtest covers family life and interpersonal relationships, consumer and community health, and environmental health.

Each CSET: Health Science subtest contains multiple-choice and constructed-response questions. Multiple-choice questions are scored based on the number of questions answered correctly. There are two types of constructed-response questions, short and extended. Subtest I and Subtest II have both types. Subtest III has only the short constructed-response questions. The CSET: Health Science constructed-response scoring is based on how well the answer achieves the purpose of the question, applies subject matter knowledge, and gives supporting evidence in relation to the topic. The extended constructed-response questions also evaluate the depth and breadth of understanding.
